A Fantastic Base in the Heart of the Highlands.

Leys Castle is a gateway to the best of the Highlands and Islands. Whether you come back to it every day - and let's face it we wouldn't blame you - or use it as a base to reach other destinations in the area, the choice is yours.

Right on our doorstep lies the City of Inverness. As one of the UK's newest cities, it is often referred to as the Capital of the Highlands. It has all the high street shopping experiences you would therefore expect of a city as well as restaurants and hostelries which showcase the areas rich food and drink.

Speaking of drink, why not ask us to a arrange a visit to a local distillery - Glenmorangie is popular or get off the beaten track and find out what others like the Dalmore, a 30 minute drive from Leys Castle has to offer. You'll be nicely surprised wherever you decide to visit.

A days drive to Scotland's west coast opens up to mesmerising landscapes, golden sandy beaches the Carribean would be proud of and exceptional Highland hospitality en-route.

The Cairngorms National Park - the UK's largest National Park - is also nearby. Five of the UK's six highest peaks are contained within the 4,528 sq km of the Park. It is home to several rare and/or endangered species including wildcats, Golden eagles, otters and pine martens. Wildlife viewing is highly recommended and we can recommend several activities.

Nearer to Leys Castle, take a trip down Loch Ness and keep your eyes peeled for the famous Loch Ness Monster. Visiting the villages on both sides of the loch offer some interesting stop offs from the five-star Loch Ness Centre and Exhibition in Drumnadrochit to nearby Urquhart Castle and Fort Augustus further south.
